Curt Kiser Just in case you were wondering. we DID have the picnic on 16 June and YES we were dry for 90% of the time. We were watching the rain clouds swirl all around us and providing rain for everyone else. Unfortunately our BEEMER bike friends had to ride in the rain but they are a hardy bunch that do that on a regular basis anyway. I enjoyed meeting a number of new and new-to-me members at the picnic. It will be fun to get to know them better at our future events and gatherings too. We once again were able to hold our heads high with our participation in the Porsche Club of America cooperative outing held on 22-24 June at VIR. The word is out on us and this event is getting popular with the National Capital Chapter members. The June reports from the national office our chapter indicates that we are now 824 members strong! We are one of the few steadily growing chapters in CCA friends. This is wonderful news for the chapter but still provides a challenge to meet the needs of a larger mass. In any case I would like to welcome each new member and encourage you to contact the board with your questions or interest. News from National is that the iMIS computer system conversion has not been smooth. Some of our chapter labels, reports and possibly renewal services to the members may have experienced some bumps in the road lately. Rest assured that CCA National is on it! Believe me, they want it to work! Other national news is that the membership reward program from BMW NA may not be renewed for next year. BMW CCA is working with BMW NA to continue the program so we will probably be hearing more about that in the near future.

However, because of the paucity of injury researchers and research institutions in LMICs, the evidence base for the identification of risk factors for unintentional injuries in these countries is growing more slowly.
